I held the real one in my hand and studied it for several hours that day. This one has a 5 3\/4\" long hand forged blade made of 1095 steel. This knife was what I needed on that trip. Roccos father uses one like it same heat treat same AEB-L blade steel. Hes as filed hundreds of fish and hardly needs and sharpening. No rust or staining to worry about and would be great for salt water.  The guard is siler soldered nickel silver . Handle has a hidden tang that runs almost to the end of the high grade aluminum crows beak pinned butt.  Blade is thin about .090 thick with some flex. Also has a Lanyard hole so it doesn't end up at the bottom of the lake. Spacers are old school and impervious to moisture. Sambar stag is top quality hand picked and rock solid. OAL is about 12 1\/2\". Tight fit pouch sheath is waxed so it will hold up in wet conditions.
